The crudely drawn map above bears a slight mis-representation. It implies that Wichita is the actual, geographical center of the continental US. This isn't actually true. The true geographical center of the continental US lies in Lebanon, Kansas and is about a 2 hour drive from where I live. Just to be exact.

I am a girl in my late twenties born and brought up in Soviet Russia. In 1996, I moved to Silicon Valley. I studied psychiatry at UC Berkeley and worked at Stanford. After graduation, I lived in San Francisco for two years working for a well-known financial services company and led a very active, somewhat public social life in Silicon Valley and San Francisco.

In 2010, I moved to Kansas to pursue a career in aviation. I lived in Wichita for a year before moving to Central London. Now I'm moving back. My experiences inspired me to write about what it's like to live in Kansas for the benefit of those of my friends who will unlikely get a chance to visit this part of the world.
